Our Mission
We are a retired Air Force family who loves to travel, so we understand that leaving your pet is hard and often times expensive! We started McGowan Mountain Homestead as a way for pet owners to leave their loved one with someone who will love and take care of them as much as you do when you can’t and not break the bank. Whether it’s a vacation, work trip, emergency, or whatever else life throws at you, let us take care of your loved ones so you don’t have to worry while you’re gone. (Pets, if you need a break from your owners, you’re always welcome here!)
kenneled only at night
We want our friends to enjoy their time with us. This includes snuggles on the couch, and playtime. We only kennel at bedtime, and all dogs must be kenneled.
Treated like our own
We will treat your pet as if they were our own. They will get it all the loves and attention as they would get at home…and a few treats along the way!
We are flexable
We want to fit into your schedule not the other way around. Just let us know what is convenient for you and we will try our best to accommodate.

All visits to McGowan Mountain Homestead will include the best care at an incredible price! Each visit includes care tailored to your pet’s needs, Drop-off/pick-up times that work for you, playing outside, photos and videos on how your pet is enjoying their time with us.

What to expect when dropping off/picking up.
We value your business and appreciate you choosing to board your with us. Please understand we board in our home and ask that you respect our privacy. Your pet will be treated as if they are home with time on the couch, lots of loves and snuggles and of course treats just like they were home. When you drop off or pick up your baby, we will meet you outside and get anything you brought for their stay. This ensures the safety of everyone involved and the privacy of our home. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
